22 Weeks 4 days

This week has had its ups and its downs
Starting to really get tired during the week and am glad that I am taking the Obstetricians advice to finish up work at 28 weeks.

Couldn't walk by Thursday this week.  I think the extreme weight that I have put on in the short couple of weeks finally caught up with me.  Went to see a physio and organised a pregnancy belt.  Then went of to have a pregnancy massage.  This would have to be the best choice I had made.   Felt amazing afterwards.

Mum and I went window shopping on Saturday and we have organised the car seats.  Unfortunately the cot is another story.  If anyone hears of someone selling their cot please check whether it is a "Grotime Windsor 3 in 1 cot in Walnut colour".  We have 1 cot and would really love to keep the cots the same.  They have discontinued this cot and there doesn't seem to be anywhere in Australia brand new.

15 Weeks

Oh I think I forgot to put the final reveal of Oriana's bedroom on the blog.  She loves her new bedroom and hopefully we can keep it in this condition.  There are no toys in her bedroom as she has her own playroom at the front of the house.

21 Weeks and 4 days

Starting to feel pregnant now.

This week we finished off Oriana's bedroom and did the room reveal to Oriana.   I think she was happy even though the brief we received from her before she went back to her mums last fortnight was that she wanted a teenagers room. (That was not going to happen for at least another 7 years :)

The most interesting part of this week was Adrian pulling out the dishwasher from under the sink ready for the plumber to fix the drains and install on the weekend.  Only problem was that once the dishwasher was out there was an open pipe under the sink.  Didn't realise this until I pulled the plug on the kitchen sink after doing the dishes and hearing the sound of rushing water pouring out below the sink.  The result was the rest of the dishes for the week were washed in the bathroom sink at the other end of the house.

We celebrated Valentines day on Friday night.  Nona took Oriana up the coast for the weekend so we took the opportunity to go out to dinner.  We went to the local Lions Club (Richlands).  Adrian got the premium seafood platter which was massive for its $30 priceline.

Adrian's Seafood Platter

Good news is we now have the plumbing fixed and the new dishwasher (that isn't rusted and covering all the dishes is a white film) installed.  Bad news is that the dishwasher came up with flooded error tonight with the message to call Fisher and Pykel for help.  Rang the 24/7 customer helpline to get a message "Thank you for calling Fisher and Pykel.  Our phones are currently unattended. Please leave a message and we will return your call within 24 hours.  I guess thats what they mean by 24/7.

News on the baby front.... the twins are a kicking and can be felt on the outside.  Was so excited that Adrian would get the opportunity to get to interact with them.  At the moment the kicks are not bad but I know what is to come.

20 Weeks 4 Days

2nd Week in our new home and it is looking a little bit more homely.  Oriana's bedroom is well underway with the 3rd coat of paint making it to the walls (the wall was a lovely brown beforehand).  The wall art arrived this week to feature on Oriana's wall and thanks to Julie we have picked up a single wooden bed and Adrian has sanded it down and painted it white.

This weeks plan is to get the wall art onto Oriana's wall and move her bed etc into the bedroom.

The new bed - fingers crossed the mattress fits!

What about the twins?
Yahoo!!!!  We have reached halfway.  The boys are starting to move around a lot more in my tummy.  Adrian got to have a feel of twin 2 doing backflips yesterday.  I have been waiting for that moment.

Went and saw Dr Alexander on Thursday and very happy with the progress.  I don't think I could ever get enough of hearing their heartbeats.  Dr Carmody says that our type of twins are the safest to carry out of all types and they would usually look at delivering from 36 - 38 weeks depending on how they are developing.

I cannot believe how quickly the time is going.  At this stage I only have around 7-8 weeks left of work and we still have so much to do to the house before then.

19 weeks 6 days

SURPRISE.....   We have DCDA (Dichorionic-Diamniotic) Twins..

What does this mean?  They each have their own placenta and their own sacks but we will not know whether they are identical until they are born.  The percentage weighs highly to being non-identical (fraternal - 2 eggs) twins but there is a small chance of identical if it was 1 egg that split between 0 - 3 days of conception.

Their gestation age was 18W & 4 Days which was recalculated to 19 weeks + 6 days as of the last scan.  It looks confusing because the scan shows the original gestational age without the correction.  They are still due 26th June 2013.

Twin 1 -  Its a Boy!!!

Yes - we are definately a boy but I have no photographic proof as they did not take a still shot!

This photo you can see his right eye lense

Love this photo....

Twin 2 -  Its a Boy!!!

I am a left handed thumb sucker....

Congratulations to all that guessed the sexes of the babies.  I guess the next game will be - When they will be born, Natural or C-Section (I am planning for Natural) and Weight, Length....

Whats next?

Back to Dr Alexander this week for my 20 week appointment.
Another 3D scan at 28 weeks....

19 Weeks 4 Days

Another busy week this week which was proven by being extremely exhausted today.

Australia Day Public Holiday (Monday) started off with no power and no water.  We were planning to have the rest of the stuff into the house, unpack and clean up the old house.  I did say that was the plan!!!  We unpacked a little at the new place but feel that we really didn't get anything that we planned to do done.

Although we were not affected by floods we sure did get our share of fallen down trees, luckily none hit the house.

Tuesday, driving around to mums place to check on the dogs and my heart started to sink when we say a massive baracade and police tape on the house behind mums.  Found out from the neighbours that their was an electrical fire as all the lights were flickering.  Thank god that the dogs were ok.

We picked up Oriana on Thursday from school.  She had only seen the house before we bought it so this was all exciting for her.  She has spent most of this weekend playing on her massive play equipment, trampoline and new play room.  This was lucky because Adrian and Carolyn spent the weekend painting Oriana's bedroom from the coffee stained colour to crisp white.  Hopefully her wall art arrives soon so we can finish her room - ready to start painting and decorating the nursery.

So whats coming up for us?

Tuesday AM - Morphology Scan - last chances to get in your guesses for the sexes

Couldn't help with this photo....  Caught both of them eating the leftovers in the kitchen straight after dinner.
