18 weeks 4 days

We bought a house!

Thanks to my work mates who were very understanding and let me take Friday off.  One thing I definitely recommend on settlement date is don't work...  You will spend hours waiting for the other lawyers to confirm the amount, go to the bank for a cheque, take it to your lawyer.  Also recommend having a presettlement house check.

Thank you very much to my mum who helped us transport 8 trips in two cars on Friday arvo/night even when it started to pour. On Australia Day,  We made it through two more car loads in the morning before Ariel came to help Adrian move the white goods. Due to the rain expected in the next week we will attempt to sleep on a blow up bed.

Attempted an Aussie day BBQ on the webber that they previous owners left behind. Unfortunately it took to long to warm up and we gave up 20 mins before it heated cooking on the stove top. Thanks Janean for the home made apple pie.

What about the TWINS!

So the twins are starting to grow pushing my tummy forward and making my back a little tender.  I cannot stand in one spot for long, have trouble standing from couches and beds and hip gives way when I walk long periods.

Purchased a pregnancy wedge yesterday as we were drowning in pillows with two body pillows and triangle pillows etc as I was placing one on either side of me to keep me from rolling onto my back.  We will see how it works.

Getting closer to our morphology scan.  Come on 5th Feb.

1 weeks difference!!!  Someones had a growth spurt :)

17 Weeks 4 Days

Another Week hits the dust.

This week we have been busily packing waiting to hear when a settlement date will be.  Hopefully we will get settlement early next week and then we can start moving some of the boxes in the evening and then the rest of the stuff on Saturday AM prior to our housewarming (Australia Day) party.

Well I am starting to show a little more this week but still pretty small for 17 weeks with twins.  I have started to get itchy tight skin so guessing that I am going to have a growth soon.  Not long now till our next scans and the sexes are revealed.  I have been feeling some movement but also feeling some twitches up in my ribs so not too sure what is going on up there.

Got a cot on ebay this week so we are now on the hunt for a second one the same.  They seem to be pretty popular so hopefully we will find one in the next 6 months.  Please keep your eyes on the lookout for any secondhand Grotime Windsor 3 in 1 cot (Teak in colour).  We are not too fussed if there are a few marks etc.

16 Weeks and 4 Days

Wow, isn't the time flying away.  16 Weeks and 4 Days!

Holidays over I had to return to full time work.  Glad to be in the air conditioning during the day but was amazed how tired I got the closer to the weekend.  Thursday and Friday I pretty much went straight to bed after work.

Had a visit with our Obstetrician on Thursday and got to see them again no take home pictures sorry.  Heart beats were strong and confirmed that they are definitely further along than the original dates so we are definitely sticking with the June due date.

The weekend was supposed to be all about packing but unfortunately the weather disagreed.  Nearly 40 degrees Saturday and Sunday kept me inside the air conditioning at every possible moment.

I have a couple of peoples guesses on the sexes to update:
Ant - I think it was girl then boy by birth
Jane - Girls
Ebony - Boys because I am still so teeny :)

15 Weeks and 4 Days

This week has been very eventful!!

Oriana had her 6th Birthday on the 27th December.  This week Oriana and I have been on holidays.  We spent our time at Springfield Lakes Water Park, went to Southbank to see the Dinosaur Museum and Southbank water playground, did some baking and visited the local indoor playground where I got to catch up with my bestie Janean.  Very thankful for a day off on Saturday when Oriana spent the day with Grandad and Grandma Stacey and then today we went to GOMA with Nona.

Orianas favourite moments were riding her new skateboard around the lake and digging for bones at the museum.

We started doing some window shopping for baby items this weekend - Cots, Strollers, Car Seats.  Cannot believe how many choices there are but disappointed that there isn't really much out there suitable for twins.  Still have a couple of prams that I want to see first.

During my research my favourite pram was the Emmaljunga.
Pro's - Has the options to attach capsules, bassinette and normal seat.  Looks really funky, lightweight to push and had changeable suspension.
Con's - 17.5kg, we spent 30 mins trying to fold the pram and gave up when all we could move was the handlebars.

Basically the negatives for most of the prams that had options to attach different style seats required two hands at the full double length to fold and they were very heavy and took up a lot of room in the boot.

So far we have decided that we should focus on prams with the following qualities rather than all the cool attachments etc that you can get.
1. Does it fold easily
2. Is it light to pick up and put in the car
3. Does it compact down so that it doesn't take up too much of the boot.
4. Can both seats be moved independantly

Also my other findings so far are that the furniture packages at the Baby Warehouses are for singletons.  We will not need two changetables or two rocking chairs and to buy another cot, bassinet they want to charge the same amount or more than the package.  I think some negotiating will be required for shopping.

A big thank you to Bianca, Carolyn for your addition to clothing of the twins. Also a very big thank you to Lyn and Jennie for all the size 00000 clothing and preemie hats.  I have bought some plastic containers and have a great supply of sizes 00000 to 00 at this stage.  Very thankful for the help as this is definitely going to be a hard task.

I also have to thank my Mum, Jennie for the supply of maternity clothing that she got in Melbourne.  I should now be supplied for clothing for most of my pregnancy.  I am very overwhelmed with the help.

Mum says that I am definitely looking like I have shifted up higher in my abdomen this week.  I thought I was looking bigger this week but in comparison to last week I think they look smaller.  I have gained 3.5cm to my waist now at 83.5cm.

15 weeks

So far the following people have put bets on the sexes.
Oriana - Boy and Girl
Brea - Girls
Adrian - Girls
Jennie - Boys
Lyn - Boys
Lizzie - Boy and Girl
Adele - Girls
The Findlay Family - Boy and Girl
Mellie - Boy and Girl

One can only guess what next week brings :)
